Rare poster for the notorious ‘revenge match’ between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky, 20 years after they played in Reykjavik the ‘Match of the Century’ . Fischer had not played for 20 years and lived as a hermit  and caused a lot of commotion when he spat on a letter from the Minister for Foreign Affairs at a press conference. In the letter he was warned that there was a trade embargo against Yugoslavia and that he was committing an offence if he played. He did anyway, and therfore could not return to the US, ending up in a Japanese prison, and dying in  Iceland.
The match was played in Sveti Stefan (Montenegro) and Belgrado and ended, after two months, in a 10-5 victory for the  American. The prize was 5 million dollars, of which Fischer got 3.65 million. The money was put up by the louche banker Jezdimir Vasiljevic, whose head is also on the poster. 

Condition: In good condition, stored rolled up. Has never been framed.
