Edme-Jean Pigal, born in Paris, on 2 February 1798 and died September 16, 1872, in Sens, is a genre painter, draughtsman, engraver and French lithographer.
From the 1820s to the late 1830s, Pigal produced many lithographs caricaturing the customs of his time, and social classes.
