PASS ON THE FLAME’ is an art charity project that focuses on preservation of culture and heritage through creativity. By engaging contemporary artists with a token of the past from another country it asks for their reflection on their own identity.

Eight international leading contemprary artists have joined this initiative founded by the ABURY Foundation where Moroccan Berberbags become canvases for a new works of art. A multidisciplinary artist who took his name from a character in a cartoon book, Kalamour has been passionate about drawing, photography, painting and music since his youth. He became more involved in fine art after a completing a diploma in Visual Arts. During 5 years of study at the Conservatoire his focus started drifting towards digital music and videoart.

Interested in video art and video installations, Kalamour has received many awards for his experimental video projections at the Festival of Video Arts in Casablanca and the Trivia Festival in Portugal. He discovered "vjing" at a show and taught himself this new form of communication, suited to his creative style and his work. Kalamour’s video work has been presented at numerous festivals in Morocco and in Vic, Barcelona, Cartagena, Formiguel, Casablanca, Rabat, Martil, Agadir. Kalamour is also a sculptor, working in wood, clay and even snow, the latter particularly important in his work in ephemeral art. His talent in this domain drew critical attention in the festival of snow sculpture in Quebec.

He is currently taking part in Jidar Festival of Street Art in Rabat for the second year in a row.

This Berber Bag is being exhibited as part of this year's Marakesh Biennale and will be ready for shipping on the 20th of May 2016. We thank you for your understanding.
