Wall mask made of red clay at Wormser Terra Sigillata-GmbH, Worms in Germany.
The factory in Worms is known for its high quality Roman pottery, Terra Sigillata (Latin for stamped pottery). The composition of the clay was a patent. The clay contains darker and lighter areas and has a beautiful naturally satin sheen.  The design is from ca.1935 Arthur Möller, modeled on the death mask of an unknown girl who drowned in the Seine around 1880. Her identity was never found. Her age was estimated at 16 years. Her enigmatic smile was compared with that of Mona Lisa.
The mask is marked on the back with a fragile white logo stamp, "Terra Sigillata Worms" model number "530". Also a retail label Arn vd Heijden Art Trade Eindhoven.
The condition is excellent.
