This early work by the Italian artist, (1949-55 ?) some time after being painted, was donate to Licia Bartoloni, a young comrade of the painter activist days with the PCI, the Italian Communist Party in Rome, met after the end of world war two. The picture, a 30x40 cm still in its original frame and passpartout, remained property of Mrs Bartoloni till her death in november 2004. Is now property of the son, Angelo Fanton.
It appears in the Modern and Decorative Art auction catalogue, 22/24 november 2010 (auction 91, page 19, lot 34) at Auction Sales House Babuino of Roma (It).
