Volkswagen - T2a Westfalia camping van - 1969

Rare T2a Westfalia poptop with the even more rare "Oslo" -interior. The van is an original "California blue plate car", which means that it was delivered new in California in 1969. The van still has 90% of its original paintwork: "savannah beige". The battery box is the only place that underwent minimal welding. Furthermore, there is some superficial rust under a small piece of the windshield. The rest of the car is in superb condition !! Look closely at the detail photos, only rarely will you encounter this type of van and much less in this version! Super tight rain gutters, solid mounting brackets, tubes, thresholds and a spotless underside! The upholstery of the front seat, bench and door panels have been replaced in the original colour and motif. The upholstery of the motorhome area has been completely redone in the original mustard-coloured leatherette and the mattresses/couches/chairs were refilled. A new canvas was fitted. The interior is fully complete, including the special (and often missing) ceiling closet in the back! This is the only T2a version (together with the "Stockholm") that is equipped with 2 hotplates and an electric refrigerator. The van is equipped with a good running 1600cc single port engine. Equipped with a new NOS exhaust end pipes, new fuel lines / filter, new shaft covers and the seals of the shaft flanges were replaced. The manual transmission has new oil and shifts smoothly. The van has California papers and should be checked for technical inspection in Europe. This is a used vehicle. It is advisable to view the vehicle before bidding, to avoid disappointment afterwards. For a viewing appointment or more info, please contact Catawiki. The camper can be viewed and picked up in Zijderveld, the Netherlands.
