Precious and rare Papal Bull on parchment by Pope Alexander VIII (1610-1691) with lead seal.

Pope Alexander VIII, born Pietro Vito Ottoboni (Latin: Alexander PP. VIII; Venice, April 22, 1610 - Rome, February 1, 1691) was the 241st Pope of the Catholic Church from 1689 to his death.

Pietro Vito Ottoboni was born in Venice to Marco Ottoboni, a Venetian patrician and chancellor of the Republic, and Vittoria Tornielli, the youngest of nine children. The Ottoboni family (which still exists) belonged to that class of citizens, namely the upper middle class, which used to be employed in Venetian bureaucracy. His father himself was Great Chancellor. From 1646 on the Ottobonis were part of the Venetian aristocracy.
