Beauti9ful Bronze statue of William of Orange with dog Signed on the pedestal: L. Royer and with an inscription of the bronze casters Lurasco Brothers Louis Royer was a Flemish sculptor who made various statues of famous Dutch people in the nineteenth century He portrayed the whole Royal Family in busts of marble and designed statues of many national heroes in the political, military, cultural or artistic field In 1823 he was the first one who won the Dutch version of the Prix de Rome
Another copy of this sculpture is in the collection of the Rijksmuseum
