Beautiful ELNA Supermatic sewing machine with manual and additional decorative stitches
The Elna Supermatic has a revolutionary concept and is the first compact household sewing machine with fully automatic stitches. The first Supermatic was introduced in 1952 at a trade fair in Basel and was made up to 1956 in the Swiss factory.
Just like the Elna 1 the Supermatic is green and has the same compact design, with the free arm of the sewing machine in a metal case, which at the same time can be used as a sewing table.
The Elna has its original manual, as well as all original cam discs for ornamental stitches. In addition, there is a box full of extra cam discs. These manage the lateral movement of the needle, the supply and the correct placement of the fabric for all stitches.
The machine works and is complete. The motor is fine, however the rubber wheel for the drive is somewhat flat due to little use, and should be replaced. You can hardly blame a 65 year old Elna sewing machine that one part is waning:-) Parts and how to fix this, can be easily found on the internet.
Do you want a super nice, solid vintage suitcase-sewing machine with all stitches? Then this Elna Supermatic is something for you!
