Bonneau du Martray is generally regarded as the top producer in Corton and is one of only two producers in Burgundy that only have Grand Cru wines in their portfolio (the other being Domaine de la Romanée Conti). The 1996 vintage is general regarded as a top vintage in Burgundy, receiving 5 out of 5 possible stars from Michael Broadbent. He describes it as follows: "gleaming pale golds; rich, fragrant, with very pronounced pach kernel scent; distinctly sweet, mouth filling; richly flavoured and excellent acidity".
The bottle has was stored in a cold celalrin the North of England until my purchase, since when it has been stored in a temperature controlled cabinet. The levels and colour are excellent as can be attested by the photographs (all bottles are <1cm). They are still wrapped in their original tissue paper.
