A solid copper Thora roll, lined with red velvet on the inside. Mid 20th century. ‘Thora’ literally means learn or lesson. The Thora consists of the first five books of the Tenach (Jewish bible) which is the main basis of Jewish faith and tell the earliest history of the Jewish people. A part of the Thora is read in the synagogue on each sabbath. Dimensions: height, 14 cm. wide closed, 7.5 cm. open, 10.5 cm. Weight: 495 grams. Condition: one of the sticks has a small metal chain missing, otherwise still in fine condition. Packaged extra carefully and sent registered.
