Painted box to simulate tortoiseshell, inside lined with genuine tortoiseshell measuring 6cm in diametre and 2 cm in depth
It features William IIII, Roi d'Angleterre.
KIng William IV of Great Britain and Ireland.
Born in 1765 and died in 1837.
Son of George III and Queen Charlotte.
He reigned from 1830 until his death in 1837.
Queen Victoria of course took the throne after William IV.
It is of particular interest today as Queen Elizabeth II has just made all the private papers of her Great, Great etc Grandfather's public; these are being kept at the Royal Archives at Buckingham Palace, and are accessible for Art Historians only.
