Rare semicircular shop tin for caramels, with a sloping hinged lid On three sides of the tin lithographs of polar bears on the North Pole. On the lid a picture of the Dutch Royal Coat of Arms “Je Maintiendrai”, unfortunately this has faded (see Photo 3). This polar bears tin is a precursor of the bird-tin by "Van Melle" with sloping lid. Brand: N.V. van Melle's Confectionery Works - Royal Purveyor - Polar bears - Breskens Holland. Origin - Breskens Holland Dating: 1890 to 1920. Dimensions: height 26 cm, width 25 cm, depth 21 cm Condite - in good used condition - see pictures for a good impression.
