The Matrix technology consists of the sound box that has a honeycomb placed in it of which the spaces have been filled up with sound-deadening foam. The honeycomb connects the horizontal and vertical sides and the front and back of the cabinet with each other. This results in a sound box that is very rigid which is why the sound box almost does not affect the sound. The sound box is very “dead”, the natural frequency of the speaker is very low, in other words. When you tap on top of the casing, it seems like the casing is made of solid wood, judging from the sound. The result of all this on the musical presentation is a sound image that is very detailed and with a fabulous, solid low end.
