These great Duncan chess pieces are unique in size, detail and finish. A Medieval theme is depicted, presumably Lancelot. The chess pieces were made by French ceramics artists in around 1960. 

All chess pieces are quite large, especially the kings and rooks which are 17 cm in height. Such a set of special and large chess pieces is hard to come by. All chess pieces are equipped with blue felt, so the pieces smoothly slide across the chessboard.

The chessboard is only depicted for decorative purposes and is not part of this lot. Total weight chess pieces: 4.0 kg.
