Extraordinary sculpture in composite alabaster of the early 20th century depicting the bust of the God Mars, screwed on black circular pedestal in wood.
Mars was a Roman deity of the 1st century BC, and was the God of war, according to the most archaic Roman mythology he was also the God of thunder, rain and fertility.
Both Etruscan and purely Roman, mythical father of the first king of Rome Romulus, he was the warrior God par excellence.
