Catawiki's Buyer Protection

At Catawiki, trust is the single most important thing we work on every day. Catawiki's Buyer Protection guarantees that your payment is safe, objects are quality checked by experts, and all sellers are verified.

If you have questions, we've got answers

All objects have a detailed description and images to help you understand what you’d receive.

If you notice any information missing from the description or have specific questions about an object, you can contact us. One of our experts or support specialists will assist you.

Please be aware that we may not be able to provide an answer before the auction ends. In this situation, we advise that if you want to place a bid, to do so based on the information you have at that moment.

To help us maintain our strict quality standards, we charge a Buyer Protection fee on every Catawiki purchase. The fee is 9% of the final bid amount plus €3 and includes any applicable VAT. The fee also applies if you're exempt from VAT.

We’ll notify you as soon as the seller ships your object. You can also track your object in your order details page. If you can’t find the tracking info or it’s taking longer than the estimated shipping time, we encourage you to message the seller directly.

Sellers calculate shipping costs when they submit an object for auction. These costs vary depending on the shipping company the seller uses, shipping method (registered, insured, parcel post, etc.), packing and handling, and any applicable fees. If you are in a different country than the seller, this might also include customs fees. If you have questions about specific shipping costs, you can reach out to the seller directly.
