WW2 German army officer Sword - Pattern 1693 - Wrangel
Made from 1936.
One of the most unique officer's swords produced during the Third Reich. It was part of a promotional series of swords manufactured by the firm Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. This “Field Marshall” series is named after a group of nine German field marshals from centuries before that.
This model is named after:
Generalfeldmarschall Friedrich von Wrangel (1784-1877).
The sword that was named after him, was very beautiful and had not only an unusual long-winged Eagle on the stylized crossguard. This example carries the Eickhorn-squirrel logo of 1935-1941
